City Music Foundation Artist | 2021 November

After winning the audition, Sirius signed a contract with the City Music Foundation and has become their artist in the next two years.

Philip & Dorothy Green Young Artist | 2020 July

Sirius won the audition and was selected as the Philip & Dorothy Green Young Artist 2020-22.

London Sinfonietta Academy

Selected Flautist | 2020 April

Sirius won the position at London Sinfoneitta Academy 2020, which will be held in December.

68th Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition

Winner | 2020 February

Sirius won the Wind, Brass & Percussion Prize at the 68th Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition, adjudicated by Joy Farrall, Gavin Henderson CBE, Ursula Leveaux and Geoff Parkin. He will compete in the Gold Medal Final in November.

Glyndebourne Pit Perfect

Winner | 2020 February

Sirius won the flute position at Glyndebourne's Pit Perfect Scheme. He will perform with the Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra from September to December 2020 for their production of Madama Butterfly.

Brandenburg Concerto at National Concert Hall

Concerto Soloist | 2019 August

As a result of a cancellation from Ms Emily Beynon, Principal Flute at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Sirius stepped in to perform Bach's Brandenburg Concerto with David Chan, Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Anders Norell, Principal Flute at National Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan, and the Formosa Quartet.

Musicus Society

Artist | 2019 April

Sirius was named the Musicus Society Artist in Hong Kong, founded by internationally renowned cellist Trey Lee. Engagements with the Society have included collaboration with pianist Colleen Lee, prizewinner at the International Chopin Piano Competition.

Zetland Foundation

Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition

Sirius was invited as one of the 24 flautists to participate in the most prestigious flute competition internationally, the Carl Nielsen International Competition in Denmark. He was the only candidate from the United Kingdom and from Hong Kong.

Eugene Magalif Flute Concerto Competition

First Prize | 2018 December

Sirius won First Prize in Eugene Magalif Flute Concerto Competition in the USA. He was awarded a Brannen-Copper Silver headjoint.

Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Scholar

Sirius was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Scholarship in support of his Artist Diploma studies at the Royal College of Music.

Hamamatsu Wind Academy and Festival

Best Performance Award | 2018 August

Sirius won the Best Performance Award at the Winners' Concert of the 24th Hamamatsu Wind Academy and Festival in Japan. Members of the Jury are prominent wind players from different countries, including Michael Collins, Peter Moore, Eric Aubier and Laurent Lefèvre.

Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund

Sirius is extremely grateful to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. Their generous support allowed him to pursue the Artist Diploma in Performance course at the Royal College of Music.

Tagore Gold Medal

Winner | 2018 July

Sirius was being nominated and won one of the most prestigious awards at the Royal College of Music, the Tagore Gold Medal. In recognition to his contribution to the life at the RCM, the medal will be presented to Sirius during 2019 President's Visit by HRH The Prince of Wales.

RCM Concerto Competition

First Prize | 2018 May

Sirius is thrilled to have won the Royal College of Music Concerto Competition. As a result, he will perform Chaminade's Flute Concertino with the RCM Philharmonic on 7 February 2019.

Westbourne Orchestra Concerto Competition

First Prize | 2018 May

Competing against three other finalists including a violinist, pianist and clarinetist, Sirius won the Westbourne Orchestra Concerto Competition and will perform Ibert's Flute Concerto with the Westbourne Orchestra in July 2018.

RCM Solo Woodwind Competition

Sirius won the Flute Prize, as well as the Edward & Helen Hague Senior Woodwind Prize (Overall Winner) in the annual RCM Solo Woodwind Competition with Geoff Parkin, Director of ROSL ARTS, adjudicating.

Drake Calleja Trust

Sirius is grateful for the support from the Drake Calleja Trust over the past two years on his Master of Music in Performance studies at the RCM. The Drake Calleja Trust decided to continue having Sirius as their Scholar in the academic year 2018-19.

Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award

Ian Fleming Award | 2018 May

After auditioning in front of a panel of six professional musicians including clarinettist Emma Johnson, Sirius was awarded one of the major HMUK Postgraduate Awards, the Ian Fleming Award. This allowed him to pursue the Artist Diploma in Performance course at the RCM in 2018-19.

Tillett Trust Young Artists' Platform

After auditioning for the Tillett Trust, Sirius was selected as one of the four Tillett Trust Young Artists. With the generous help of the Trust, Sirius will make his debut in Wigmore Hall with pianist Kumi Matsuo in March 2019.

EMI Music Sound Foundation

With the support from the EMI Music Sound Foundation, Sirius was able to purchase his own Kingma & Brannen Alto Flute.

Orford Music Academy

Sirius was selected to participate in the 2018 Orford Music Academy in Canada as their Scholar this summer. He studied with world-renowned flautist Paula Robison and performed in Rising Stars Concert.

Loan Fund for Musical Instruments

Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition

First Prize | 2018 January

As one of the five finalists at the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition, Sirius won the title '2018 Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist'. He will perform Mozart's Concerto in G major with the Orchestra on 21 October 2018.

Countess of Munster Musical Trust

Postgraduate Study Award | 2016-18

Sirius was thrilled to receive the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Postgraduate Study Award for two consecutive years. The awards had made his Master of Music in Performance studies at the RCM possible.

RCM Study Award

Leverhulme Arts Scholarship | 2016-2018

In recognition of his progress at the RCM, Sirius was awarded the RCM Study Award supported by a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship.

Manchester Mid-day Concerts Series

After a series of competitive auditions, the Duo Bauhinia comprises of Sirius and pianist Chi-Hoi Cheung won a place to perform at the prestigious Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on 4 March 2019 as part of the Manchester Mid-day Concerts Series.

Le Domaine Forget International Music Academy

Alain-Marion Scholarship | 2017 June

Sirius was given the precious opportunity to study privately with Mathieu Dufour, Principal Flute at the Berlin Philharmonic, renowned soloist Philippe Bernold, Ulla Miilmann and Marie-Andrée Benny. He also performed Ibert's Flute Concerto at the Domaine Forget Concert Hall. He was awarded the Alain-Marion Scholarship as the most outstanding flautist the Academy.

Alion Baltic International Music Festival

As a Scholar, Sirius was invited to join the Alion Baltic International Music Festival in Estonia where he studied with Elisabeth Möst and Rita D'Arcangelo. He gave several performances across Tallinn, including Tallinn Town Hall, History Museum and Estonian Theatre & Music Museum.
